A seldom used trail

Signal Knob

On Sunday 3/6/16 I hiked at Elizabeth Furnace (part of George Washington National Forest).
Stats: 11.5 miles, 32 pound pack, 2434ft elevation gain, the most elevation gain in one day I've done so far.

The signal knob hike near Elizabeth Furnace
The knob is the mile long trail pointing straight up on the the map.

Typical view of the trail nearing the first view point

One of view points on the way up

There were lots of rock slides to make my way over on the way up
