May 6 - Mt Holly Springs and Heavy Rain

Mountain laurel
6.2 miles today

Forecast called for rain all day.
I got up really early packed camp then quickly hiked to town. I had a reservation for the Holly Inn in Mount Holly Springs Pennsylvania. They offered a free shuttle ride from the trail to the hotel. By the time the shuttle picked me up and we got back to the hotel it was noon. Just in time, because it was pouring rain by then. I checked in, took a nap and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. The Holly Inn look like a dump from the road but inside the rooms had been recently remodeled and there was a high-quality restaurant with a professional chef and also a nice bar with decent nightlife.

Light rain today

Since the Holly inn was so nice I decided to stay the next night also and to use the hotel's shuttle service to slackpack the trail. I spent the rest of the day drying my gear repacking it and doing my laundry.
