May 8, 2016 - Finished Crossing the Cumberland Valley

Cindy, one of the six owners of the Holly Inn

Today I hiked 9.4 miles.

Check out the open mic sample link near the bottom of this page.

Cindy, Rose and Marie are 3 of the 6 owners of the Holly Inn. Cindy shuttled me around most of the 3 days. Marie shuttled me on two occasions. Their shuttle service was a remarkable deal, if I stayed in their hotel the shuttle rides were only fifty cents a mile. Other commercial shuttle drivers were charging $1.50  to $2.00 a mile. After 3 days my total cost was just $30 plus $50 a night for the hotel.

I met some mushroom hunters and they told me about a mushroom hunters club they belong to.

Trail register

Yesterday I met two flopfloppers, one from England named Roller and another named Riglay (both female). Today, reading the registry at the farm, I recognized two names, Riglay and  Roller! I finally know some hikers in the register, Later when talking to some other thru hikers they said that they had seen my entry's too! I must be a real thru-hiker now.

I ordered too many wings back at the Inn (12)

The last two nights at the Inn had a band that could play well but couldn't sing and a karaoke night with no one that could sing. Tonight though it was open mic night, finally some music I could listen to! The young man was really quite talented. Played many instruments and had a wide vocal range. Listen to a small sample of three songs: at my youtube channel.
